Digital Video

Welcome to Digital Video and IB Film.  These classes will be conducted together and will cover a lot of similar ground.  However, the classes differ in a few significant ways:

Digital Video is a Video Production class, meaning that the focus of the work will be on planning and creating videos.

IB Film is equal parts a production class, a history class, a screenwriting class, and a film analysis class.

To explain graphically, see below:

Narrative

Film Art

Because these are different classes with different focuses, expectations for Digital Video (DV) and IB Film (IB) are different as well.  DV should be understood as an art making class, where IB Film must be understood as an art class, a history class, and an aesthetics class. As such, the expectations for the classes are different as well.  The Evaluation page will explain how different assignments will resolve these different expectations.
